We are proud to see Susan Henner as a recipient of the 2017 NYC Mayoral Service Award. Marking the end of National Volunteer Month, The New York City Mayors Office recognized Susan as part of a select group for going above and beyond in their contributions to the community, including over 5,000 hours of pro bono time to Safe passage.
“In both good and challenging times, we are a City that works together to help one another, uplift our neighborhoods, and protect our residents,” says Mayor Bill de Blasio.
This month, the City recognizes over 3200 members for their service through the NYC Mayoral Service Recognition Program. Altogether, these volunteers have contributed over 797,000 hours of service to the City. These members were nominated by city agencies and non profit organizations for contributing over 100 hours in 2016 and received a certificate of recognition from the city.
The event featured the First Lady Chirlane McCray and NYC Service Officer Paula Gavin honoring 113 individuals who served 1000+ hours of service, as well as over 20 businesses that engaged at least 20% of the NYC-based employees in service in 2016.
We are proud to have Susan Henner as a member of this exclusive and prestigious group of honorees, and see our Offices represented in the community through an leadership and personal service.
